2. Are you a finisher eager to be matched with a project? We hear you.

So, we have two goals for 2026:

1. More project submissions. Finishers, we know you are looking forward to being assigned a project. There are millions of projects out there waiting to be completed. We’re working to get the word out as best and as fast as we can.

2. Fundraising. More projects will mean more staff. More outreach means more events, more travel, more printing, more postage, and improved tech.

3. Funding is the only thing slowing us down.

Every single story is made possible by supporters like you. When you donate to Loose Ends, your gift directly gets unfinished projects into the hands of volunteers who can complete them. Our crafters volunteer their time, but everything else requires funds.

Fund a Pack of Flyers: $125

Help us find the projects that need our help. This donation covers the printing and shipping of flyer packs for hospitals, hospices, and local shops, as well as the coordination of the volunteers who distribute them.

Fund a Single Project: $270

This covers staff time for the entire journey of a project, from the initial submission and staff matching to final communication and surveys. Our services are free of charge. Your gift will ensure a meaningful piece of work is completed and returned to a family.

Fund an Event: $500 – $1,000

Events like H+H Americas and Vogue Knitting Live allow us to reach hundreds of people at once. Although we are usually gifted a booth, there are still costs to travel (airfare, printing, shipping, and staffing), about $3000 for the bigger ones. We declined more than a dozen events in 2025 due to funding cuts. Your gift of any amount will allow us to make it to more outreach events this year.

4. “Fingers crossed I can knit faster than she can quilt.”

Eat Sleep Knitters is a shop in Dallas, GA, specializing in hand-dyed yarns (and then some), and Arly has worked there for several years. Their owner, Erin, started the company out of her closet in 2008. Which leads me to this request…

If you are a finisher, please record yourself working on your Loose Ends project. We’d love to see your face. If you’re shy, we’ll settle for your hands at work! Whilst filming, tell us what you’re working on (keeping names and locations private). Why did you say yes to this project? What do you like about it? Any challenges? It does not have to be fancy (we can edit things on our end), but a couple of things to keep in mind: 1. Hold your phone vertically, and 2. Natural light is best. If you are a project submitter, we understand that receiving your project back can be emotional and intimate. If it feels OK to you, we’d love to see a video of you with your item. Tell us if you love it, and why. Tell us about the person who started your project and what you intend to do with it (wear it, share it, hand it down, put it on the bed or the wall). Your experience (filmed) helps others understand what we do, and encourages more folks to submit their own projects to Loose Ends. Email your video to mae@looseendsproject.org

5. Our Wishlist

1. One or two UK Ambassadors
   We need a UK volunteer who is willing to act as “dispatch,” shipping flyers when needed to areas around the UK. We will cover printing and shipping costs, but we’d like that mail to come from a centralized location within the UK. Is this you? Please reach out here.

2. Join Boston Loops. Do you live in Greater Boston? We are launching “Boston Loops,” an organized outreach group designed to encourage more project submissions. This starts in early April (soon), in collaboration with the Greater Boston Knitting Guild. Sign up here!

3. Join Maine Loops. Do you live in Maine? We are expanding Maine Loops after our initial 6-month pilot yielded such amazing results (doubling the number of project submissions). Maine Loops is tried-and-true and open to new members. Sign up here!

7. Legacy Quilt update: Getting closer!

We have almost all of the squares and panels for our Legacy Quilt, which is being made to honor the 855 donors to our 2025 annual campaign.
